Who are physical Therapist?

Physical therapist (PTs) are movement experts who optimize quality of life through prescribed exercises, hands-on care, and patient education (American Physical Therapy Association, 2020)

Why don’t you accept insurance?

We don’t accept insurance insurance because we want to work directly with you, the patient, and no middle woman/man, insurance company. Insurance companies provide regulations on how to treat your condition even though they have never examined your condition. Since we do not accept insurance your plan of care is always determined by an agreement between you and us.

In addition, you can be provided with a itemized bill, that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

What if I can’t afford your services?

Here are Woods PT, we understand finances can sometimes limit our ability to seek care. Due to this, we have an equity plan which we will assess your discretionary budget and grant a waiver of our services ranging between 25-90%.

How long to treatment sessions last?

Sessions can range from 30 min - 1 hour.

What is LSVT BIG?

LSVT BIG is a proven method of 16 treatments sessions over a month to restore or improve quality of life, range of motion, strength, balance, and decrease falls in those with Parkinson disease.

What is vestibular rehabilitation.

Vestibular rehabilitation is a subset of physical therapy where we focus on eliminating or decreasing dizziness, vertigo, and double vision. In addition, we focus on restoring or maintaining your balance and equilibrium.

What is therapeutic exercise?

Therapeutic exercise is a subset of physical therapy where we focus on increasing your range of motion, strength, and endurance. This includes simple task such sitting on the edge of the bed to more complex task such as running a marathon.

What is the difference between dry needling and acupuncture?

Dry needling is a therapeutic intervention where thin filiform needles penetrate the skin to decrease your pain, increase range of motion, and/or increase your muscle strength.

Acupuncture is form of Eastern Medicine where needles are inserted to balance a patient’s qi.

How long will it take me to get better?

This is specific to each patient. After your initial examination, you will be instructed on your plan of care. On average most patients see results in 1-2 visits and complete their plan of care within 8-10 visits.

Is blood flow restriction training safe?

Yes. There has been numerous scientific studies which study the safety of blood flow restriction and minimum to no adverse reactions were found (Clark et al., 2011; DeJong et al., 2006; Loenneke et al., 2011; Loenneke et al., 2014 ).
